Soft Tissue Manipulation
soft tissue manipulation for muscle recovery
5-Point Myotherapy is an advocate of soft tissue therapy for muscle recovery. The benefits of trigger point/myofascial release is crucial to the development and recovery of overworked or imbalanced muscles in the mechanical structure of the body.
According to a 2007 American Massage Therapy Association survey, almost a quarter of all adult Americans had at least one soft tissue therapy session in the previous year. And they have a wide range of reasons for doing so. More and more people recongnize the health benefits of myofascial therapy. There are many manipulation styles to get relief from symptoms, to heal injuries, to help with certain health conditions, and to promote overall wellness.
Exercise Is Better With Muscle Recovery
By combining your exercise routine with soft tissue therapy, you will be able to train longer and harder and make the most of your workout.
Soft tissue therapy has shown to have major benefits regardless of the participant’s fitness level.
Athletes seeking enhanced performance, improved conditioning, faster recovery, injury prevention and assistance in maintaining peak fitness can benefit from soft tissue therapy.
Targeted MYOFASCIAL THERAPY
Chronic myofascial pain is different from the occasional muscle soreness created by an extra challenging workout or a weekend of painting. Myofascial pain syndrome is ongoing, with pain being sent from sensitive areas known as trigger points in certain muscles or connective tissues to other, seemingly unrelated, areas of your body.
At 5-Point Myotherapy, our professional therapists are experienced in addressing the pain that comes from chronic muscle contraction. Myofascial therapy involves gentle traction, pressure and positioning your joints in different angles that create a natural stretch. Along with encouraging muscle spasms to relax, it also helps break up adhesion in the affected fascia.
The relaxing effects of soft tissue release are cumulative, which means that regular sessions help bulid and maintain health. By targeting not only the contracted muscle or fascia that triggers pain in other areas of the body, but also addressing the stress that may have caused such muscle tightness in the first place, Myofascial therapy is a powerful weapon in battling pain.
fROM OUR AWESOME CLIENTS
The session was excellent. Hollie did a great job of finding the places that were causing me pain and working that out. In the past, I have always found massage very relaxing, but, in addition to that, this time really helped me feel better.
They are very attuned to your body’s needs–they find the knots and tight/stiff places, and always seems to know the right amount of pressure to use. This therapy is similar to ones I have received in the past from physical therapists–for me, I need more than a standard relaxation massage, and I always feel so much better after my my sessions. Looking forward to being a regular client!
